General Definitions
Core Concepts
Co-Marketing-as-a-Service (CMaaS)
Barika's unique business model that enables brands to collaborate on marketing initiatives through a managed platform. Unlike traditional advertising, CMaaS focuses on mutual brand partnerships where both parties benefit from shared customer value.
Co-Marketing Partnership
A collaborative relationship between two brands where one hosts offers from the other within their transactional messages. This is not advertising - it's a strategic partnership where both brands share in the value created.
Transactional Message
Communications sent to customers as part of normal business operations, such as order confirmations, shipping notifications, or account updates. These messages can include co-marketing offers from partner brands.
Offer
A promotional message created by an Offer Partner that can be matched and displayed within a Host Partner's transactional messages. Offers include headlines, descriptions, calls-to-action, and tracking links.
Reach
A single instance of a Barika offer being displayed to a customer within a Host Partner's transactional message. Reach is counted when a message that contains a Barika offer is reported as sent or viewed according to the Host Partner's own delivery or analytics data, regardless of whether the customer engages with the offer. Engagement
A customer action on a Barika offer, such as clicking the offer link in a transactional message and visiting the Offer Partner's page. See also CPE (Cost Per Engagement) for how Engagement is used in pricing.
Partnership Revenue
The earnings generated from hosting partner offers in your transactional messages. This is calculated based on the reach delivered and the applicable billing rates.
Partner Types
Brand Account Owner
The unified account type on Barika. Every user is a Brand Account Owner with both Host Partner and Offer Partner capabilities enabled by default, allowing them to both create offers and host offers from other brands.
Host Partner
A brand that carries and displays offers from other brands within their transactional messages. Host Partners earn partnership revenue based on the reach they deliver.
Offer Partner
A brand that creates offers to be distributed through Host Partner messages. Offer Partners pay CPR to reach new customers through trusted brand channels.
Brand Partner Network (BPN)
The ecosystem of verified brands on Barika that can form co-marketing partnerships. The network ensures quality and trust through verification and compliance processes.

Trust & Safety Profile
A comprehensive assessment of an offer's safety and compliance, including content quality, brand alignment, and regulatory checks.
Content Quality Gate
Automated analysis that evaluates offers for inappropriate content, profanity, health claims, and URL safety before they can go live.
Brand Trust Compliance Gate
A filtering system where both Host and Offer Partners' preferences must align for an offer to be matched, ensuring mutual brand compatibility.
Live Pool
The collection of approved, active offers that have passed all Trust & Safety checks and are eligible to be matched with Host Partner messages.
Verification Status
The current state of a brand's verification process: Pending, Email Confirmed, In Review, Action Required, Verified, Rejected, or Suspended.
Billing & Payments
Wallet
Your prepaid balance used to fund offer campaigns. As an Offer Partner, you spend from your wallet based on reach delivered and engagements received.
Billing Rate
The cost per reach for delivering offers. Rates may vary based on offer type, category, or negotiated partner terms.
CPR (Cost Per Reach)
The fee charged for every 1,000 times a Barika offer is inserted into a Host Partner's transactional message that is sent to a customer. CPR is calculated using the Host Partner's own send or impression data. Barika does not control or independently verify delivery of the underlying transactional message, so CPR billing is based on reported reach where a Barika offer is present.
CPE (Cost Per Engagement)
The fee charged each time a customer clicks on a Barika offer link inside a Host Partner's transactional message. CPE is billed per valid click that takes the customer to the Offer Partner's chosen destination and is charged in addition to any CPR-based impression fees.
Platform Fee
Barika's service fee, calculated as a percentage of partnership revenue. This is automatically deducted when Host Partners earn revenue.
Net Revenue
The actual earnings a Host Partner receives after platform fees are deducted from gross partnership revenue.
Top-Up
Adding funds to your wallet balance to continue running offer campaigns.
Transaction History
A complete record of all financial transactions on your account, including wallet top-ups, campaign spend, and revenue payouts.
Available Earnings
Revenue earned from partner offers during a period that has been confirmed and is ready for payout. This represents money you can withdraw to your bank account.
Pending Earnings
Revenue waiting to be confirmed. These charges are pending because the Offer Partner's wallet needs to be topped up before the earnings can be credited to your account.
Total Earnings
The combined total of Available Earnings and Pending Earnings for a selected period. This represents all revenue generated, regardless of confirmation status.
Paid Revenue
Earnings that have been successfully transferred to your connected bank account. This represents completed payouts processed through Stripe Connect.
